La Enchilada: Authentic Mexican Flavors Await You in Montebello

My hubby tried this place out during lunch time one day and he brought back an asada burrito for me to try knowing I'd love it. Sure enough, after the first couple of bites I knew this would be a spot we would frequent thereafter. We live on the other side of town, but have been back since my first bite to try the burrito enchilada and a few tacos of cabeza, chicken and asada. All were equally delicious. I also enjoyed their salsa verde, zesty and more on the cilantro herby side of taste. The burrito enchilada was heavy on the sour cream, but we know to ask for less next time. The wait time was a bit lengthy, but I appreciated the cleanliness and how spacious the restaurant is. We'll be back to try the other delicious items on the menu!

I love coming here for a quick lunch, the Spanish rice is delicious and I really like their salsa- it has good flavor and isn’t too spicy. The guacamole is made fresh and flavorful. The chicken quesadilla is really good, and the enchiladas are good too. Service is quick and the restaurant is always clean. A perfect lunch spot for when I’m missing dishes I used to get back home in Texas.

Super good food, recommend getting their plates. Went on a thurs evening. It wasn’t too busy, easy parking in the plaza. Chicken enchilada plate: 5/5 Chicken fajita plate: 5/5

This is a great restaurant for very good Mexican food I will tell you that right now, it's at least two dollars more for combination plates in Orange county restaurants like this one! And you won't even have half the clean, neat and friendly atmosphere as this little restaurant offers. (Hope this review doesn't make them raise the price) As you can see from the pictures, the food is very good and is generous with portions. And I got sliced lime with my plate! So when other places are giving you lemons, head down to this Montebayyo restaurant where they are keeping the East Los Mexican food tradition alive and well. I was hungry and stopped in again. I thought that new pictures of the menu and food will help everyone see how they are keeping the price in check while still providing the best food!

i got bistec(steak) ranchero bc i haven’t had it in a while & it really hit the spot plus the presentation was really nice (to me) like they put foil over the entree so it doesn’t spill everywhere.

La enchilda is amazing! They have a wide variety of food and specials on certain days. Spice level is mild (i love spicy); however. they make up for it through their delicious food and many choices.

First and most importantly the food was amazing. I ordered 2 plates of chilaquiles one with red sauce and the other with green. The sauce tasted so fresh you could tell it had just been made by hand. The flavors danced in my mouth and reminded me of what my grandmother's food used to taste like back in mexico on the ranch. The eggs were fluffy, which is hard to do, and the tortillas were crisp. Everything just tasted si fresh and delicious. But then we get to the service... it was also fenomenal. They could not have been nicer or more acomidating. This was my first time and I will definitely be going back.

The food is fresh and delicious. The service is pleasant. We love the combo platters. They have specials per weekday such as Tacos Tuesday where most of the tacos (asada, carnitas, pollo, al pastor) are $1.75 each. Restaurant is clean and spacious. Definitely a place to frequent.
